ABOUT ME

I have been working in the mental health field for 20 years. I began doing outreach in Central Park and Upper Manhattan for homeless adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses like Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder, many of whom struggled with substance abuse issues. I did similar work in New Haven, CT as well. I also worked in the Criminal Justice System in an alternative sentencing program for adults with mental health issues. I have a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College and a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College. I also completed over 2000 hours of individual psychotherapy with adults and couples and 4 years of advanced postgraduate study at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies.

I have worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger management issues, addiction and recovery issues, coping with disability, caregiver stress, spiritual and religious concerns and a variety of other issues. I have experience working with people on the Autism Spectrum, creative artists and performers, college students, as well as medical and human service professionals. ,, ,
